Section 1
Course map and prerequisites
The recommended path runs from resistive DC to transients, then AC and phasors, analog devices and digital hardware:
- Review voltage, current, power and Ohm's law (
ELE-008,ELE-009). - Apply Kirchhoff and series/parallel resistors (
ELE-014,ELE-015,ELE-016,ELE-017). - Bring in capacitor and inductor storage (
ELE-018,ELE-019,ELE-020). - Study RC/RL switching and then RLC dynamics.
- Move to sinusoidal steady state, power, resonance and filters.
- Model transformers, diodes, transistors and op-amps.
- Close with electrical interfaces, combinational and sequential logic, and data conversion.
Entries ELE-008 through ELE-020 are prerequisites: they are not recatalogued here; they are used to analyse complete circuits.
